It’s hard to be hanging up my reins after so many years writing fan fic, especially when I’ve left so much unwritten or half-written. I had so many stories I wanted to tell at one point that the list of ideas was almost two-pages long! Over the years, I started deleting the ones that were just the ficlets and the ones that wouldn’t accomplish anything except to pad out ideas that had already been alluded to in other stories. Then a couple of years ago as I was struggling to finish up
Kindred, I realized that I was drying up, my enthusiasm just wasn’t there anymore and I didn’t have the energy or time for all those stories still left to write. So I whittled down what was left of my “to-write” list to those few stories I still wanted to write. It was my intention to write them in whatever order I finished them, but the last one I ever posted was always going to be
To The End of His Days, because what better place was there to leave this universe than there?
Well, as you can see, there are no stories posted between
Kindred and TTEOHD besides some Yule ficlets I had promised to write the year before but didn’t get around to. So I at least accomplished that much. Unfortunately, it means there are still a handful of stories left unwritten and my universe will remain incomplete. So I thought I’d at the very least tell you what those stories were and how I had planned to finish up my tale that grew in the telling. And who knows? Maybe someday, I’ll be inspired to actually write these stories, but I doubt it at this point.
So these are my Gamgee-bunnies, for anyone to take home, foster and bring to adulthood. Note that if any of you do feel so inclined to use any of these bunnies, you're are under no obligation to follow my plans for the stories.
